As the production industry heads quickly towards embracing High Definition technology, from entry level HDV to top-end HDCAM SR, Videocraft Australia have been at the forefront. Providing a unique mix of cutting edge hardware (sales or rental), unparalleled technical knowledge and operational expertise, Videocraft are leaders in their field.
At the Digital Media Festival, Videocraft are displaying a wide range of HD technology solutions, none more impressive that Sony’s new XDCAM HD range. The new PDW-F350 camcorder offers true HD multi-frame rate capability, including Fast and Slow Motion (4P to 60P) and switchable recording formats between MPEG HD and DVCAM. Also on display is the powerful new PDW-F70 XDCAM HD studio recorder. It can record and playback 1080i lines at multiple frame rates at a high bit rate of up to 35 Mbps and also offers Gigabit Ethernet capability for network based file transfer (with the optional PDBK-101 board).
XDCAM HD teams superbly with Avid’s Media Composer Adrenaline editing system, which includes native XDCAM HD support. Together they offer a new age HD workflow solution you have to see to believe. HDV has taken the market by storm, and as part of their continuing commitment to this versatile cost effective HD production medium, Sony are releasing two new decks. The HVR-M15P and HVR-M25P are HDV/DVCAM/DV compatible, offer a dual size cassette mechanism and in built down-conversion. Additionally the HVR-M25P includes an integral 2.7” 16:9 colour LCD display and HDMI output.
Another major launch at the show, is the first local public appearance of Sony’s new HDW-F900R HDCAM camcorder. Offering all the features of the industry standard F900 model, the F900R is housed in a more compact chassis, and includes HD-SDI and optional SD-SDI outputs. A range of lighting solutions will be on offer including the ingenious LED Lite Panels range. Of special note is the highly anticipated 1’ x 1’ panel providing higher light output than ever before, along with the low power consumption and compact size Lite Panels are famous for.
Coinciding with the show is the launch of four great Sony promotional packages. Amazingly, a free 32” Bravia LCD Television will be yours when purchasing one of Sony’s new XDCAM HD camcorders. Customers can also claim a free Sony PSP with the purchase of either a new Sony HDV deck or portable Luma LCD monitor. Last but not least, you will receive a free SDI output option with the purchase of a DSR-450WSPL DVCAM camcorder. Details at the stand.
Finally, visitors to the Videocraft stand can go into the draw to win a ticket to one of Getting Creative’s highly acclaimed Cinematography Master Classes (valued at $799).
Overall this is a show not to be missed. You can find Videocraft at Stand 2 on the show floor.
