 FAQ'S

Why use a tripod?
-A tripod is the mark of a professional
-It increases the quality of your production
-Support lets you focus on focus
-Stable shooting reduces editing time
-A tripod lets you create in-camera effects

What is counterbalance?

The counterbalance system in a fluid head allows a camera to remain in the tilt position it was left in, i.e. at any angle within the specified tilt angle range.

Why would I choose a ground spreader?
A Ground Spreader is chosen when most shooting is performed on a level surface, such as a studio, city streets, offices, sports fields and stadiums.

Why would I choose a mid-level spreader?
A Mid Spreader is chosen when shooting is often performed on uneven surfaces, such as steps, rocky ground, slopes. Miller's Sprinter/Hd Mid Spreader includes adjustable centre hub and quick release brackets. Most Miller spreaders are also telescopic to allow extension of a tripod leg without detaching the spreader.

What is ball levelling?
The tripod and fluid head have a spherical levelling system which allows the tripod to be set-up as accurately by eye and head levelled accurate for horizon using bubble level indicator on fluid head.

How does a spreader-less tripod work?
It has locking mechanisms at the top of the tripod leg to constrain tripod legs at three different angles for optimal height and rigidity for your shoot set-up.

What is fluid drag?
There is physically a fluid (grease or oil) that is trapped between a series of plates within an engage able pack. These torque damping mechanisms are engaged in combinations to create selectable pan/tilt drag settings. Rather than a friction drag which uses force between two surfaces to create a drag mechanism. These fluids engage able packs result in smooth pan and tilt operations which become more evident in tight zoom shots. I.e.: to reduce shakiness and stutter in acquisition of footage.

Where should I store my tripod when I am not using it?
You should store your tripod in a cool dry place away from the sun in a horizontal or upright position. Remember not to lock the tilt whilst storing it.

How should I clean my tripod?
Do not immerse in any liquid. Avoid stiff brushes, abrasives or solvents. When exposed to harsh environments such as sand, mud or salt water spray), wipe over with a soft damp cloth as soon as possible and use a soft brush to clean crevices.

How do I choose the right tripod for my camera?
Use
www.millertripods.com and use the quick find search function where you can enter your camera model and get recommendations of suitable systems for your camera.
