The Sennheiser MKH 416-P48U3 is a compact, moisture-resistant shotgun microphone ideal for professional film, TV, and location audio. It captures clear, mix-ready sound with low self-noise, high sensitivity, and excellent off-axis rejection. With a hypercardioid to lobar pickup pattern and 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, it delivers intelligible dialogue and detailed sound effects. Phantom-powered via XLR, it mounts easily to boompoles and includes a foam windscreen for basic wind noise reduction.

Sennheiser's MKH 416 transformerless, RF condenser is designed as a combination of pressure gradient and interference tube microphones. Very good feedback rejection, low proximity effect, 130 dB/SPL.
