ISIS File Gateway – Inexpensively extend access to non-real time clients allowing non-editors with direct access to on-line media, and enabling lower cost proxy-based workflows with a dedicated server and software option that allows Windows, Mac, and Linux workstations to connect through standard networking protocols on a non-real time basis.

No single point of failure – All active system components are redundant and can be hot swapped, including storage blades, switch blades, power modules, and System Directors proving multiple levels of protection of media and metadata.

Data redistribution – In the event of a drive failure, the intelligent storage blades autonomously reconstruct the data in the background while maintaining real-time performance; the more storage blades there are in the configuration, the quicker the process becomes and unlike systems that require user intervention for drive failure, the self-healing Avid ISIS 7000 system provides continuous access to data for uninterrupted productivity and business continuity.

Ultra-fast drive rebuild – Replaced drives are rebuilt up to 20 times faster than conventional RAID techniques reducing vulnerability to data loss.

Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure – Avid ISIS 7000 employs industry standard Ethernet technology, eliminating the need for mixed Fiber Channel and Ethernet networks simplifying administration, integrating easily into existing IT infrastructure, and reducing total cost of ownership.

Integrated Switching – Avid ISIS 7000 Engine has integrated switching with a simple setup and support benefits even the smallest workgroups and just one cable running from the storage to the client. Also, unlike typical SANs, there is no need for a secondary network to support metadata.
