  • Regarding the black magic 4k, I noticed it had recording inputs for two mini jacks but it's analogue is that correct? If that is correct and if you can, why?

Yes, the BMCC 4K accepts balanced mic or line level analogue audio. Balanced analogue audio is how most video cameras accept an audio signal. Instead of the typical XLR connectors, Black Magic have chosen 1/4" TRS jacks, which are a bigger version of the 3.5mm jacks usually used as a headphone output on consumer products.

  • When recording 1920x1080, 50 frames per second on the BMCC 4K, is the recording in progressive or interlaced mode?

According to the spec sheet, the 4K camera will only shoot 1920X1080/50 as interlaced footage.

  • Does the BMCC 2.5k camera have the ability to record interlaced footage like the BMCC 4K camera?

At this stage the BMCC 2.5K camera can not record interlaced frame rates. The 2.5K camera only records the progressive frame rates of 23.98p, 24p, 25p, 29.97p, and 30p.

  • Would this Philips EME P2/11 800W 240V fit a Lowel Tota light? The Lowel website lists the codes EMD and EMF. What is the difference?

Yes, the 800W EME bulb will fit a Lowel Tota lamp. The Lowel lamp guide for the Tota light,  found here, references several bulbs that can potentially fit a Tota light. Most are 120V versions, including the EMD.

The 240V EMF bulb is a frosted glass version of the the EME which is clear glass. The frosted glass yields slightly softer light with a perceptably lower output when compared to the clear EME.
