AJA Releases FS-HDR for Real Time HDR and WCG Conversion and Processing

AJA Announces Io® 4K Plus with Thunderbolt™ 3
AJA Video Systems announced the new Io 4K Plus capture and output device with support for Thunderbolt™ 3. Io 4K Plus offers the latest 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 I/O connectivity, advanced audio features and 4K/UltraHD support up to 50p/60p frame rates. Io 4K Plus is the next generation of AJA’s capture and output hardware devices and AJA’s first Thunderbolt 3 product. Offering a range of connectivity, including 12G/6G/3G/1.5G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 I/O, Io 4K Plus is compatible with the latest 4K/UltraHD devices. Using AJA’s proven drivers and application plug-ins for macOS® or PC, Io 4K Plus integrates with standard creative tools such as Adobe® Premiere® Pro, Apple® FCP X and Avid® Media Composer®. AJA’s proven conversion technology facilitates real time, high quality scaling of 4K and UltraHD to HD for monitoring and output. Io 4K Plus also includes an additional Thunderbolt 3 port for daisy chaining flexibility. Firmware Update: AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus - Firmware V2.0
Ki Pro Ultra Plus is a multi-channel recorder offering 2, 3 or 4-Channel simultaneous HD recording up to 1080 50/60p, or in single channel mode, 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD recording and playback, with full HDMI 2.0 input and output (up to 12-bit capture and output). Housed in a 2RU half rack or mount 2 side-by side for 8 channels of recording, it offers extensive I/O flexibility and a range of connectivity options from 3G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 and fiber. Ki Pro Ultra Plus captures pristine 4K/UltraHD and HD video to standard production codecs including Apple® ProRes and Avid® DNxHD MXF. Channels can be displayed on Ki Pro Ultra Plus’ LCD screen as a quad-split during capture for confidence monitoring, which can also be output over HDMI, SDI, fiber and the device’s web-based UI. The new v2.0 firmware update enables the latest HDR formats with HLG and HDR10 playback, and adds support for recording and playing ProRes 4444 XQ up to 2K60p, among several other feature enhancements. “The new v2.0 firmware for Ki Pro Ultra Plus is an extension of our commitment to providing customers with updates that keep pace with the latest workflows. Firmware Upgrade: Ki Pro Ultra v2.2 with Avid MXF Support Now Available
Ki Pro Ultra v2.2 follows on from the v2.1 which offered Avid DNxHD .MOV encoding and decoding support with the new addition of 1080p 50 and 59.94 frame rates and now adds native Avid DNxHD MXF support.
AJA announces new IPR-1G-SDI - JPEG 2000 IP Video and Audio to 3G-SDI Converter
The IPR-1G-SDI is a bridge from IP to SDI with VSF TR-01 (and other JPEG 2000 formats) to 3G-SDI support, suited for point of use applications including source monitoring, transfer to VTRs and switchers, digital signage, video walls and more. The IPR-1G-SDI decodes VSF TR-01 streams then formats the data for 3G-SDI output. The audio associated with the video stream is extracted, synchronised, and then embedded into the SDI stream as well as output on an analog RCA stereo interface. Videocraft provides NSCC with Hybrid Broadcast Production Facility
The Videocraft solution included four Sony BVP-E30 SD triax camera chains and a Panasonic AV-HS450 vision switcher with Venitex Aux Bus control panels providing the NSCC with simple switching for two stage side screens independent of the broadcast feed. Stewart added, “The solution was a good one and the way Videocraft installed the switching console so we could overlay song lyrics over live video was particularly clever. Andy also designed the system so we could independently switch the side screens from the broadcast cut using the flexibility and versatility of the Panasonic vision switcher. It was very clear that Videocraft understand how to utilise the full potential of the AV-HS450 and how, by using third party add-ons, we could achieve a very cost effective workflow.” The Videocraft installation also integrated AJA Ki Pro hard disk recorders that enabled a fully file based workflow for the NSCC’s post requirements, a Ross router, Sony monitoring, new Sony projectors, Fujinon ENG and box lenses and all back end glue, wiring and cabling.
As the NSCC facility is staffed by volunteers, ease of use was something that had particular attention paid to it with Stewart commenting, “Our volunteers are not broadcast industry professionals so Videocraft had to take that into consideration. The broadcast facility we now have is simple to use and yet gives us very high quality results. It’s a great example of how Videocraft have created a full broadcast facility on a very tight budget. As a result we have all our bases covered as, by upconverting, we are able to produce HD content for all our in house requirements whilst delivering an SD master for broadcast. Our aim is to upgrade to HD cameras in the near future. The other points worth mentioning were around Videocraft’s expertise and professional approach. AJA Releases New Mini-Converters at 2013 IBC
AJA Video Systems today announced V2Digital, V2Analog, HD10A-Plus and 4K2HD, new additions to its range of compact, high-quality Mini-Converters. Each new Mini-Converter offers new features and capabilities for analog and digital workflows across SD, HD, UltraHD (UHD) and 4K. “More than ever, broadcast workflows routinely mix formats, which requires reliable hardware to ensure signal fidelity. AJA strives to anticipate and address workflow bottlenecks so our customers are never without a viable solution. Our new Mini-Converters deliver AJA quality that is affordable, bridges existing technology and provides fresh options for production professionals working in SD, HD and even 4K,” said Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems. 4K2HD downconverts 4K 3G-SDI to HD-SDI and HDMI 1.4 simultaneously, and is ideal for HD monitoring with 4K cameras. Supporting 4K (4096x2160) and UHD (3840x2160) input signals, 4K2HD enables simultaneous HD-SDI and HDMI output from 4K, downscaled at high-quality to HD. Additionally, a “pixel for pixel” center cut of the original 4K/UHD frame is supported for camera focus checks. 4K2HD also supports the latest 4K/UHD 50/60fps high frame rate input formats, which then output as 25/30fps to HD. AJA Video Systems today announced the KUMO v3.0 firmware update to enable Dual Link, 4K and Ultra HD support in its KUMO family of compact SDI routers. Available in super-compact 1RU or 2RU form factors and with support for 3G/HD/SD-SDI, cost-effective KUMO routers are ideal for any production environment from mobile production trucks to live event A/V rigs. KUMO routers are available in three configurations: KUMO 3232 supports thirty-two 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, KUMO 1616 supports sixteen 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, and KUMO 1604 supports sixteen 3G-SDI inputs and four 3G-SDI outputs. AJA Video Systems today announced TruZoom™ delivering high-quality region-of-interest (ROI) workflows from 4K and UltraHD video. The TruZoom software and external joystick controller drives AJA’s Corvid Ultra professional video I/O platfrom.
