The JVC GY-HM850E ProHD Compact Shoulder Mount Camera with Fujinon 20x Lens is a 1/3" video camera that is as comfortable in the field as it is in the studio. This versatile camera uses three 1/3" CMOS sensors with 12-bit processing to deliver Full HD 1920x1080 video at up to 60p. The removable 1/3" format Fujinon 20x zoom lens provides an impressive 35mm equivalent zoom range of 29 to 580mm. Ask A Question

* Required Fields

Cameras

  • Could you please tell me whether the JVC GY-HM850E is 4:2:2 or 4:2:0? Could you also please confirm for the 890

    The JVC GY-HM850E records to media in 4:2:0 sampling, 8 bit depth. The 35 Mbit MPEG-2 long GOP codec in these cameras is basically the same as the 35 Mbit XDCAM EX codec used in the Sony PMWEX1/EX3 cameras, which does give good image quality. The 50 Mbit XHQ mode does 50Mbit H.264, also with 4:2:0 component sampling and 8 bit depth. This is a separate question to how the camera processes the images off the camera head itself, which is a higher bit depth and higher chroma sampling rate. The JVC HM 890E is the same.
