The Sony ECM-B10 is a compact camera-mount shotgun microphone for Sony cameras with a Multi Interface Shoe. It offers three pickup patterns—superdirectional, unidirectional, and omnidirectional—using beamforming and digital processing for clear, flexible audio capture. Features include noise reduction, cable-free connection, windscreen, and battery-free operation, all in a 7.9 cm design.

High-Quality Recording

Internal digital conversion and Sony's signal processing reduce noise and deliver pristine audio straight to the camera. Direct digital transmission avoids the hiss and signal loss found in analog systems. A Digital/Analog switch adds compatibility with cameras using analog interfaces.

• Superdirectional: Focuses on a single subject in front of the camera
• Unidirectional: Captures a wider field in front, ideal for multiple speakers

Noise Filters and Level Control

Rear-panel controls allow quick access to pickup pattern selection, noise-cut and low-cut filters, and recording levels. Auto level control and a variable pad (-20, -10, 0 dB) help maintain optimal sound levels during shoots.

At just 7.9 cm long, the ECM-B10 provides ample clearance for wide-angle lenses, viewfinders, and gimbal setups. The cable-free MI shoe connection reduces handling noise, while shock and vibration suppression help maintain clarity.

Outdoor-Ready Design

Dust and moisture resistance make it reliable in outdoor conditions. Power is supplied directly from the camera, removing the need for batteries. The included furry windscreen reduces wind noise for crisp outdoor recordings.
