The RODECaster Video S simplifies complex video workflows with scene-based switching that puts creative control at your fingertips. Switch between three HDMI inputs and one USB-C source in full HD 1080p60, then build layered compositions using nine mix-effect layers that display simultaneously in both preview and program views. Create up to five custom scenes combining live video, graphics overlays, chroma-keyed backgrounds and media playback, then recall them instantly with dedicated buttons on the front panel. The 2-inch touchscreen and rotary encoder provide quick access to settings without diving into complicated menus, while the multiview display shows everything you need in one place: program and preview feeds, live inputs, audio levels, recording status and timecode.

Audio quality separates amateur content from professional productions, and the Video S delivers studio-grade sound processing that competing all-in-one solutions struggle to match. Two Neutrik combo XLR-1/4" jacks feature Revolution Preamps with up to 75 dB of ultra-low-noise gain and phantom power for condenser microphones. Integrated Aphex VoxLab processing provides comprehensive tools including EQ, compression, noise gating, de-essing and the legendary Aural Exciter and Big Bottom effects on every channel. Connect RODE USB microphones through dedicated USB-C ports, or use the dual internal wireless receivers to add up to four Series IV wireless mics like the Wireless GO II or Wireless PRO without external hardware cluttering your setup.

Intelligent Automation

The Video S introduces intelligent auto-switching that eliminates the need for a dedicated technical director during multi-person productions. Link any audio input to any video source, and the console automatically switches cameras when it detects someone speaking, following conversations naturally with adjustable priority and screen time algorithms. Advanced chroma keying happens automatically with blue or green screens, making background replacement effortless whether you're adding branded graphics, virtual sets or live video sources. The "Inspect" feature lets you preview and configure any input or scene without interrupting your live production, so you can make adjustments on the fly without awkward pauses or technical difficulties.

Direct Streaming and Recording

Stream directly to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live and other major platforms at up to 100 megabits per second using built-in RTMP/RTMPS support over Wi-Fi 6 or wired Ethernet. Real-time signal health monitoring in the multiview display ensures you know immediately if your stream encounters issues. Record simultaneously to external USB storage or the internal 24GB media drive with multiple format options: capture your program feed as H.264 MP4 at up to 1080p30 with embedded stereo audio, or enable isolated (ISO) recording to save nine independent stereo WAV audio tracks for maximum flexibility in post-production. The ability to record ISO tracks means you can fix audio issues, rebalance levels or create different mixes after the fact without redoing takes.

RODE Central Software

The RODE Central companion app for macOS and Windows unlocks advanced configuration beyond what the console's physical controls offer. Build completely custom scenes from scratch using the visual scene builder with live RTMP preview, configure intelligent auto-switching behaviour based on specific audio inputs, mix and process audio with detailed parameter control, and manage streaming profiles for different platforms. Remote control functionality lets you operate the entire console wirelessly from your computer, essential for solo creators or setups where the console isn't within arm's reach. Assign custom graphics and media to buttons, adjust advanced keying parameters, and save configurations that can be recalled instantly during productions.
