The Atomos Ninja RAW 5.2 Inch HDMI Monitor and Recorder is a compact on-camera monitor and recorder built for professional video sets and content creators who need reliable ProRes RAW capture in a portable form factor. Designed as a wired companion to the Ninja TX series, it combines a bright 1500 cd/m² touchscreen with HDMI 2.0 input/output, camera control, CFexpress Type B and USB-C recording, built-in codecs including ProRes RAW, DNx, and H.265, plus optional camera-to-cloud and NDI/HX3 workflow integration via USB-C adapter.

The 5.2" IPS touchscreen delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with a bright 1500 cd/m² display, ensuring rich colour accuracy even in direct sunlight. With 8/10-bit colour processing, HDR support, Rec. 709 colour gamut, and compatibility with Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration, you get reliable, colour-accurate monitoring on set or in the field.

AtomOS Linux provides a sleeker interface, updated tools, and more efficient operation with reduced heat output, designed specifically for the Ninja TX/TX GO/RAW product line.

Comprehensive Colour and Metadata Support

The Ninja RAW supports log formats from Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon cameras. Upload custom 3D LUTs and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats. Record essential metadata including white balance, exposure index, shutter speed/angle, iris f-stop, ISO, gamma, and gamut for streamlined post-production workflows.

HDMI Input/Output Flexibility

HDMI input supports up to 8K30, DCI/UHD 4K60, and 1080p120 video. The loop-through output passes the incoming HDMI signal to external monitors, wireless transmitters, or live streaming encoders without interruption.

Tally Light for Clear Recording Status

The integrated tally light provides a clear visual indicator of recording status. Red indicates live/recording, green signals preview or standby, helping talent and crew stay informed without confusion.

Recording and USB Features

The Ninja RAW features a CFexpress Type B slot and dual USB-C recording outputs with ultrafast data transfer via PCIe and NVMe protocols. USB-C ports also support calibration, custom 3D LUT uploads, audio device connection, and firmware updates. As of AtomOS 12.2.1, the Ninja RAW records ProRes RAW from the Canon EOS R6 Mark III at up to 6960 x 3672p30 and 4320 x 2278p60.

SegmentPro for Easier File Management

SegmentPro splits long recordings into smaller, user-defined chunks without dropping frames, making file sharing easier and reducing the risk of losing large files during transfer or storage.

Optional Network Options

With a separately available USB-C network adapter, you can add Camera to Cloud (C2C) workflows that upload video files directly from the recorder to ATOMOSphere, Adobe Frame.io, or Dropbox. The optional adapter also enables full NDI environment integration, either as an NDI source visible to authorised devices or as an NDI receiver for high-quality, low-bandwidth video.

Comprehensive Monitoring Tools

Access one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, false colour (including ARRI and EL Zone), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads). Anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring corrects the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.
