The Atomos Shogun AV-19 is a 19-inch rackmount 4K HDR monitor recorder switcher that combines professional monitoring, multi-camera switching, and high-quality recording in a single rackable unit. Built for cinema capture, live events, and broadcast productions, this studio workhorse accepts HDMI, 12G-SDI, and NDI|HX3 inputs, letting you monitor and record up to five streams simultaneously while switching between cameras in real time.

Bright UHD 4K Screen for Critical Monitoring

The Shogun AV-19 features a large 3840 x 2160 resolution display with 1200 cd/m² brightness, making it easy to see critical detail even in challenging lighting conditions. The capacitive touchscreen interface provides intuitive control over quad-view or full-screen display setups, and you can instantly review recently captured shots on the same pristine screen you used for monitoring.

Multi-Camera Switching Without External Hardware

Transform your workflow with built-in multi-camera switching that eliminates the need for separate video switchers. The Shogun AV-19 accepts one HDMI input, two 12G-SDI inputs, and two 3G-SDI inputs, giving you quad-view live switching and recording on multi-camera shoots. Record a fifth program channel of your switched feed and display the mixed output live, all while monitoring every angle. Switching is completely asynchronous, removing the requirement for expensive genlock systems and allowing you to use more affordable cameras without worrying about synced timecode or locked sources.

NDI Integration for Modern Production Workflows

The Shogun AV-19 includes NDI support via its Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, providing seamless integration with PTZ camera control and existing NDI networks. Input and output your program feed using the high-quality, low-latency NDI|HX3 protocol, making it simple to incorporate the Shogun into IP-based production environments without additional converters or hardware.

HDR Input/Output and Real-Time Colour Management

Deliver content via live HDMI or SDI output in real time from any HDR camera to a compatible HDR display. Monitor every pixel of SDR or HDR content as it's captured, viewing it in 10-bit HDR with accurate colour representation. The Shogun AV-19 is an ideal companion for high-end cinema cameras from ARRI, RED, or Sony, receiving Log signals and offering real-time LUT preview to approximate the final graded image in Rec.709 while recording in high-quality ProRes, DNxHR, or ProRes RAW.

Professional Recording Formats and Flexible Media Options

Record the main program up to 6K30 via 12G-SDI and up to DCI 4K60 via HDMI, or capture up to four 1080p60 streams simultaneously as separate ISOs while cueing and switching in real time with a simple touch of the screen. Recording options include:

  • ProRes and ProRes RAW codecs for immediate editing and archival quality
  • AVID DNx formats for seamless post-production integration
  • CFexpress slot on the front panel for fast, reliable media
  • USB-C output for external media recording options
  • Custom LUT support via .cube files loaded from CFexpress card or SSD

Complete Monitoring Toolset Built In

The Shogun AV-19 includes a comprehensive suite of professional monitoring tools for precise exposure control, focus verification, and colour evaluation. Available tools include custom 3D LUTs, false colour, focus peaking, HDR exposure analysis, pixel magnification (1:1, 2:1), RGB parade, vectorscope, waveform, zebra, frame guides, safe areas, markers, vertical flip, anamorphic de-squeeze, and Atomos Calibrator support with Display Pro HL and Display Plus HL. Six user-definable function buttons on the front panel provide instant access to frequently used features, letting you bring up monitoring tools, playback modes, LUTs, and more with a single touch.

Powerful On Set and in Live Environments

On set or during live broadcasts, the Shogun AV-19 provides a bright, colour-accurate reference display for directors, DITs, and crew with quick and easy playback of recorded takes. With a full suite of switching tools and graphic capabilities, the Shogun AV makes it simple to evaluate exposure, focus, colour, and framing with confidence, reducing the risk of costly reshoots or missed moments.

Connectivity and Rackmount Integration

Designed for professional environments, the Shogun AV-19 fits standard 7 RU rackmount configurations and includes dual 4-pin XLR power inputs for redundant DC or battery power options. Additional connectivity includes LTC input via BNC, 3-pin XLR audio input for 2-channel input and output, remote start/stop trigger via 2.5mm LANC jack on the front panel, 3.5mm headphone output, and a front-mounted tally light for live production workflows.
