The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO 2TB is a professional 8-input 3G-SDI live switcher designed for 1080p60 production. It features integrated 2TB M.2 NVMe storage for ISO recording of all eight inputs, supporting live streaming, USB webcam output, and remote internet camera control. This version includes Blackmagic Cloud integration and up to 16 multiview outputs, making it suitable for broadcast, live events, and remote production.

Comprehensive Live Production Features

This switcher supports up to eight cameras with individual 3G-SDI inputs, each with dedicated standards converters for seamless integration of different video formats. It offers professional camera control, talkback, audio mixing, and multiple program and aux outputs, enabling flexible routing for mobile or studio setups. The redesigned polycarbonate front panel includes high-quality buttons, LCD labels, and a T-bar for smooth manual transitions.

ISO Recording and Postproduction Flexibility

The integrated 2TB NVMe storage allows simultaneous ISO recording of all inputs to separate files with perfect timecode sync. This facilitates advanced multicam editing in any NLE software. A DaVinci Resolve project file is generated automatically, linking recordings to an editable timeline. Separate WAV audio files enable professional audio remixing, streamlining postproduction workflows.

Streaming and Distribution

Built-in hardware streaming supports direct live streaming to platforms like YouTube and Twitch using Ethernet or mobile data via USB-connected 4G/5G phones. The switcher records H.264 files with AAC audio, optimised for online upload. USB webcam emulation ensures compatibility with any video software, including Zoom and Teams, while multiple SDI outputs provide program feeds and multiview monitoring.

Advanced Video Effects and Multiview

The ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO includes four advanced chroma keyers, a built-in digital video effects (DVE) processor for picture-in-picture and transitions, and a SuperSource multilayer engine with four additional DVEs. The multiview output supports up to 16 sources on a single monitor with tally indicators, custom labels, and audio meters, enhancing live production control and monitoring.

Remote Camera Integration and Redundancy

Remote internet cameras can stream directly to the switcher with full camera control and tally via local network or internet using exported XML settings. The unit features dual power inputs (AC and 12 VDC) for redundancy and remote operation. Modular internal PCBs allow easy repairs, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
