The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini HDMI to Optical 12G Converter is a highly improved solution for rack-mount as well as cable duct and desktop installations. Supporting up to 12G data rates with intelligent heat dissipation, and offering features such as XLR connections and an Ethernet control and PoE port, this model is an optical fiber version of the Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI model, featuring an optical fiber output in addition to the SDI output to give you a choice of both. Both support up to 12G data rates and you can route your HDMI signal in up to Full 4K DCI 4096x2160p resolution via either. You can also connect separate audio via full-size XLR connectors that are switchable between balanced analog and AES/EBU digital audio. The SDI output will allow you to run 4096x2160p signals approximately 70 ft using 6G-SDI cables, while the optical output is capable of extra long distances. When 12G-SDI cables will be available on the market, you'll be able to route 4096x2160p signals for over 250 ft over the SDI output.
