The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini Analog to SDI 12G Converter is a compact, professional-grade device that converts analog video signals to up to Full 4K DCI 4096x2160p, outputting via two independent 12G-SDI connections. Supporting high data rates and featuring intelligent heat dissipation, it suits rack-mount, desktop, and cable duct installations for broadcast and post-production environments.

High-Quality Video Conversion

This converter upscales analog inputs to 4K DCI resolution, supporting SD, HD, 6G, and 12G-SDI formats. It can transmit 4096x2160p signals over approximately 21 metres using 6G-SDI cables, with even longer distances possible for lower resolutions. When 12G-SDI cables become available, 4K signals can be extended beyond 75 metres.

Audio Flexibility and Connectivity

Full-size XLR inputs accommodate balanced analog or AES/EBU digital audio, switchable as needed. The Ethernet port allows remote control and power over Ethernet (PoE), simplifying installation and management. The built-in 90-240V power supply requires only a standard IEC power cable, reducing clutter.

Smart Design and Thermal Management

Its intelligent thermal system with crossflow cooling and internal heat pipes prevents overheating even when multiple units are rack-mounted side by side. The converter notifies users of temperature issues via the front panel and remote software, ensuring reliable operation in demanding environments.

Customisable Front Panel and Remote Management

The standard front panel with mini switches can be replaced with an optional Smart Panel featuring a colour LCD, control knob, and buttons for detailed monitoring of video, audio levels, timecode, and video standards. Multiple units can be managed simultaneously via downloadable software on Mac or PC.

Versatile Installation Options

The Teranex Mini’s compact size supports portable racks, broadcast trucks, and concealed cable duct setups. Up to three units fit into a 1U 19-inch rack tray, making it suitable for various professional video workflows requiring high-quality analog to SDI conversion.
