The Lilliput Q18-8K 17.3" 12G-SDI/HDMI Broadcast Studio Monitor offers a 3840 x 2160 UHD display with support for up to 8K60 via Quad-Link 12G-SDI. It features HDR support, custom 3D LUT loading, and a wide 170° viewing angle. With 400 cd/m² brightness and a 1200:1 contrast ratio, it’s designed for accurate colour monitoring in studio and field environments. The monitor includes HDMI 2.0 and multiple 12G-SDI inputs and outputs, plus a V-mount battery plate for flexible power options.

High-Resolution 17.3" UHD Display

The Lilliput Q18-8K features a 17.3-inch screen with a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, delivering sharp and detailed images essential for professional video monitoring. Despite its UHD resolution, it supports up to 8K60 input signals via Quad-Link 12G-SDI, automatically scaling these to fit the display. This ensures compatibility with the latest high-resolution workflows without needing separate 8K monitors, saving space and cost.

Advanced Connectivity Options

This monitor offers a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs to suit complex broadcast setups. It includes four 12G-SDI inputs and outputs, which handle high-bandwidth signals necessary for 8K and UHD video. Additionally, HDMI 2.0 input and output ports provide flexibility for consumer and professional cameras alike. An SFP+ slot allows for optional fibre connectivity, supporting long-distance signal transmission without degradation, a common challenge in large studio or outdoor environments.

Accurate Colour and HDR Support

Colour accuracy is critical for professional video work, and the Q18-8K supports HDR colour spaces along with the ability to load custom 3D LUTs in .cube format. This lets you preview footage with precise colour grading applied, matching your final output. The monitor supports popular log formats like SLog2, SLog3, CLog, and others, plus HDR standards including ST2084 and HLG, ensuring it fits seamlessly into various production pipelines. This reduces guesswork and rework caused by inaccurate monitoring.

Essential Monitoring Tools

Built-in tools help you evaluate image quality quickly and accurately. Features include peaking for focus assist, false colour for exposure checking, histogram, waveform, and vectorscope displays, and screen markers for framing. The pixel-to-pixel mode allows you to inspect footage at native resolution, while image freeze lets you hold a frame for detailed examination. These tools address common monitoring challenges, improving workflow efficiency on set or in post.

Flexible Power Options

The monitor comes with a V-mount battery plate, allowing you to power it on location without relying on mains power. This is especially useful for field shoots where portability is key. Alternatively, a 12 VDC power supply is included for studio use. The dual power options ensure uninterrupted monitoring across different shooting environments, reducing downtime and the need for additional adapters or converters.

Remote Control and Calibration

For multi-monitor setups or remote operation, the Q18-8K supports RS-422 control via RJ45 connectors. This allows you to adjust settings from a computer or link several monitors together for consistent calibration across a studio. Speaking of calibration, the monitor is compatible with ColourSpace CMS PRO/LTE versions, enabling precise colour calibration to maintain accuracy over time, a necessity for professional colour grading and broadcast compliance.

Robust Build and Viewing Angles

Designed for professional use, the monitor offers a wide 170° horizontal and vertical viewing angle, ensuring consistent image quality regardless of your position. The 400 cd/m² brightness and 1200:1 contrast ratio provide clear visibility even in bright environments, reducing eye strain during long shoots. The sturdy construction and mounting options make it suitable for both studio racks and on-location rigs.
