Atomos Shinobi 7 II 4K HDMI Ultra-Bright HDR Monitor with Camera Control

The Atomos Shinobi 7 II 4K HDMI Ultra-Bright HDR Monitor with Camera Control is a 7-inch on-camera monitor for professional and independent video production. Its 1920 x 1080 HDR touchscreen delivers 2800 cd/m² brightness for a clear daylight view, while HDMI 2.0 handles DCI or UHD 4K footage at up to 30 fps. It provides a practical way to judge framing and image quality on set.

USB-C Camera Control

USB-C camera control supports selected Canon, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony cameras. From the touchscreen, you can set the focus point and adjust white balance, aperture, shutter speed or angle, and ISO. The monitor can also trigger the camera shutter for HDR bracketing and focus stacking, with a red border showing the recording status. Z CAM control requires a separately available USB-C to serial cable.

HDR and Monitoring Tools

The Shinobi 7 II can display up to 10 stops of dynamic range from a camera’s Log image. AtomOS provides waveform, histogram, RGB parade, vectorscope, focus peaking, zebra, RGB channel isolation, waveform and ARRI, Atomos or EL Zone false colour. Additional tools include 1x, 2x and 4x zoom, frame guides, safe areas, grid markers, anamorphic de-squeeze and display flip.

Audio and Power

Embedded audio can be passed through HDMI, while the 3.5 mm analogue input and output support audio monitoring and embedding. Power options include an NP-F battery slot, 36 W USB-C PD input and an optional NP-F battery eliminator for use with an external power source.

3D LUTs and Calibration

Custom 3D LUTs can be loaded from an SD card and applied to input and output signals. The same slot supports firmware updates. The display is factory colour calibrated, and a separately available probe can be used for on-device calibration through USB-C without connecting the monitor to a computer. Supported workflows include Log and HDR formats from cameras by ARRI, Canon, FUJIFILM, JVC, Nikon, Panasonic, RED and Sony.
