The Hollyland Pyro Ultra 4K HDMI/SDI Wireless Video Transmission System delivers professional-grade wireless monitoring with a single transmitter and receiver, expandable to unlimited receivers as your production needs grow. Supporting true 4K60 video at up to 1.5 kilometres line-of-sight, this system combines HDMI and SDI flexibility with Hollyland's TWiFi transmission technology for interference-free performance and automatic frequency hopping. Focus Mode drops latency to just 20 milliseconds at 1080p30, giving focus pullers and camera operators responsive real-time monitoring, while UVC and RTMP streaming enable direct integration with live production platforms.
Expandable Receiver Architecture
The Pyro Ultra ecosystem supports unlimited receivers from a single transmitter, allowing you to start with one receiver and expand as productions scale. Add directors' monitors, client feeds, DIT stations, and remote workstations without signal degradation. Broadcast Mode extends this capability across unlimited receivers at ranges up to 700 metres, while standard operation supports up to six monitoring screens (four receivers plus two mobile apps) at the full 1.5-kilometre range. This scalability makes the system suitable for everything from single-operator run-and-gun shoots to large-scale multi-department productions.
TWiFi Transmission Technology
Hollyland's proprietary TWiFi codec creates a composite link using both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, ensuring stable transmission even in congested RF environments. Automatic frequency hopping avoids interference from Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices, and other wireless systems commonly found on location and in studios. Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) certification unlocks additional spectrum in regulated regions, providing more channels for reliable operation when working alongside broadcast equipment.
Focus Mode for Precision Work
When pulling focus or tracking fast-moving subjects, Focus Mode reduces latency to 20 milliseconds at 1080p30, 40 milliseconds at 1080p60, and 45 milliseconds at 4K60. This responsiveness ensures accurate focus adjustments without the lag that can compromise critical shots. The mode can be enabled across all receivers in a group, making it valuable for focus pullers, gimbals operators, and anyone requiring immediate visual feedback.
Flexible Streaming Integration
Both UVC and RTMP streaming are built into the Pyro Ultra receiver, enabling plug-and-play connectivity with streaming platforms, video conferencing software, and live production systems. UVC mode supports resolutions up to 4K60, while RTMP streaming delivers 1080p60 output. This dual-streaming capability makes the system suitable for live events, remote collaboration, and hybrid production workflows where wireless monitoring and streaming need to coexist.
Freeze Frame Protection
When signal interruption occurs, the system automatically freezes the last frame on screen rather than displaying a black or distorted image. This gives production teams time to troubleshoot and recover without losing visual reference. A custom 1920x1080 JPG image (under 1 MB, named "logo.jpg") can be uploaded as a default display, maintaining visual consistency and professionalism during temporary signal loss.
Adaptive Output Resolution
The receiver automatically adjusts HDMI and SDI output resolutions to match downstream devices, eliminating manual configuration when connecting to monitors, recorders, or switchers with different input requirements. This compatibility extends across the following formats:
- 720p at 50/59.94/60 fps
- 1080i at 50/59.94/60 fps
- 1080p at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps
- 4K (3840x2160) at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps
Pyro Ecosystem Compatibility
The Pyro Ultra integrates seamlessly with existing Pyro family devices, including Pyro 5, Pyro 7, Pyro H, and Vcore systems. This backward compatibility allows productions to mix and match transmitters and receivers across the ecosystem, scaling monitoring setups without replacing existing equipment. Pyro 5 and Pyro 7 support both broadcast and non-broadcast modes, while Pyro H and Vcore operate in non-broadcast mode.
Package Includes
- Wireless transmitter with HDMI and SDI inputs
- Wireless receiver with HDMI and SDI outputs
- Four easy-install short antennas (SMA male connectors)
