The Hollyland Pyro Ultra 4K HDMI/SDI Wireless Video Transmitter delivers professional-grade wireless video distribution from a single source to unlimited receivers, supporting true 4K60 video at up to 1.5 kilometres line-of-sight. Featuring both HDMI and SDI inputs with loop-out functionality, this transmitter integrates seamlessly into broadcast and cinema workflows, enabling simultaneous monitoring across multiple departments. Hollyland's TWiFi transmission technology combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies for interference-free performance and automatic frequency hopping, while Focus Mode reduces latency to just 20 milliseconds at 1080p30 for responsive real-time monitoring during critical focus pulls and fast-paced camera work.
Unlimited Receiver Distribution
The Pyro Ultra transmitter supports unlimited receivers, allowing directors, cinematographers, DITs, clients, and remote operators to monitor simultaneously without signal degradation. Broadcast Mode extends this capability across unlimited receivers at ranges up to 700 metres, while standard operation supports up to six monitoring screens (four receivers plus two mobile apps) at the full 1.5-kilometre range. This scalability makes the transmitter suitable for everything from single-operator run-and-gun shoots to large-scale multi-department productions requiring extensive monitoring infrastructure.
TWiFi Transmission Technology
Hollyland's proprietary TWiFi codec creates a composite link using both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, ensuring stable transmission even in congested RF environments. Automatic frequency hopping avoids interference from Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices, and other wireless systems commonly found on location and in studios. Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) certification unlocks additional spectrum in regulated regions, providing more channels for reliable operation when working alongside broadcast equipment and other production wireless systems.
Dual Input with Loop-Out
The transmitter features both HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI inputs, accepting signals from cinema cameras, broadcast cameras, switchers, and other video sources. HDMI loop-out allows the signal to pass through to an on-camera monitor or external recorder while simultaneously transmitting wirelessly, eliminating the need for additional distribution equipment. This flexibility makes the transmitter compatible with hybrid workflows requiring both wired and wireless monitoring.
Focus Mode for Precision Work
When pulling focus or tracking fast-moving subjects, Focus Mode reduces latency to 20 milliseconds at 1080p30, 40 milliseconds at 1080p60, and 45 milliseconds at 4K60 across all connected receivers. This responsiveness ensures accurate focus adjustments without the lag that can compromise critical shots. The mode can be enabled across all receivers in a group, making it valuable for focus pullers, gimbals operators, and anyone requiring immediate visual feedback.
Broadcast Mode
When enabled, Broadcast Mode delivers real-time signal monitoring to unlimited receiver units at ranges up to 700 metres. This mode utilises 40 MHz bandwidth for increased stability when distributing to large numbers of receivers simultaneously, making it ideal for live events, multi-camera productions, and broadcast environments where numerous monitoring positions are required. Standard mode uses 20 MHz bandwidth and supports up to six monitoring screens at the extended 1.5-kilometre range.
Supported Input Formats
The transmitter accepts the following video formats via HDMI and SDI inputs:
- 720p at 50/59.94/60 fps
- 1080i at 50/59.94/60 fps (SDI only)
- 1080p at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps
- 4K (3840x2160) at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps
Pyro Ecosystem Compatibility
The Pyro Ultra transmitter integrates seamlessly with all Pyro family receivers, including Pyro Ultra, Pyro 5, Pyro 7, Pyro H, and Vcore units. This backward compatibility allows productions to mix and match equipment across the ecosystem, scaling monitoring setups without replacing existing gear. Pyro 5 and Pyro 7 support both broadcast and non-broadcast modes, while Pyro H and Vcore operate in non-broadcast mode.
Package Includes
- Wireless transmitter with HDMI and SDI inputs
- Easy-install short antenna (SMA male connector)
- USB-C cable for firmware updates and configuration
Power and Mounting
The transmitter accepts 6.8-8.4V battery power input or 6-16V DC power input, providing flexibility for Sony NP-F batteries, V-mount/Gold mount systems, or mains power. Power consumption is 11W in non-broadcast mode and 14W in broadcast mode. Weighing just 320 grams, the unit mounts easily on cameras, gimbals, or camera rigs using standard cold shoe or 1/4-inch thread mounting options.
