Ask A Question

* Required Fields

Cameras

  • Would this microphone be suitable for my Sony Z1P video camera? My camera has 3 pin XLR connectors, but the manual says it supports an ECM678 shotgun mic

    The Sony ECM673 Mic would be perfect for your HVRZ1P. It includes a 50cm XLR cable and a rubber spacer to stop it wobbling around in the cameras mic holder. You could also consider an ECMVG1 but the ECM673 is nicer.

Media

  • Is it battery operated or does it need to be plugged into a power point to operate? Also does the cable have the same connection as a set of headphones ?

    The Sony ECM673 is phantom powered, which means it gets power from the camera it connects to, and does not use batteries. It has XLR connections, but does not have TRS (3.5mm Mini-jack)connects that connect to consumer DSLR cameras. We would recommend the Videomic Go or Videomic Pro if need to connect to a mini jack.
