Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express HD is a portable capture and playback interface for professional video workflows. It handles broadcast-quality video up to 1080p60 in 10-bit YUV, plus formats up to 1080p30 and 2K DCI in 12-bit RGB. This provides flexible recording and playback for editing, streaming, presentation and live production applications.

Video and audio connections

The interface includes 3G-SDI, HDMI and analogue video and audio connections. HDMI output supports monitoring on a large-screen television or projector, while dual SDI outputs enable fill and key playback for broadcast graphics and other compositing workflows.

Computer compatibility

UltraStudio Express HD connects to Mac, Windows and Linux computers using USB4 or Thunderbolt 4. This makes it suitable for portable production setups across a range of operating systems and compatible workstations.

Optional front-panel upgrade

The unit is supplied with a blank front panel. A Teranex Mini Smart Panel can be purchased separately to add front-panel controls and status information.
