SmallRig Handheld Cage Kit for Sony FX30 and FX3 (Upgraded Version)
The SmallRig Handheld Cage Kit for Sony FX30 and FX3 (Upgraded Version) is a camera support kit built for the Sony FX30, FX3 and FX3A. It combines a protective cage with a hand strap, XLR handle extension rig and dedicated HDMI cable clamp to improve handheld operation while adding secure mounting points for common accessories and helping protect the camera’s ports during use.
Accessory mounting options
The cage provides a broad range of mounting interfaces for rig expansion, including 6.35 mm threaded holes, 9.5 mm ARRI locating holes, cold shoe mounts, NATO rails and a QD port. These let you add items such as a monitor, side handle, microphone, LED light, hand strap or follow focus support, depending on how you build out your FX30 or FX3 setup.
Faster changes between support modes
An Arca-Swiss quick release plate is built into the base, making it easier to move between tripod-based shooting and handheld work without rebuilding the rig. This is useful for creators who regularly switch from locked-off shots to more mobile camera operation during the same shoot.
Build and included parts
The kit measures 159 x 118 x 165 mm and weighs 313 g. It is made from aluminium alloy, stainless steel, silicone, PC plus fibre, PU leather and microfibre leather. In the box are the cage, 2 NATO rails, HDMI cable clamp, XLR handle extension rig, hand strap, 2 mounting screws and an Allen wrench for assembly.
