We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated salesperson with a strong customer service orientation to expand our sales team in Artarmon, and to support our fast-growing online business.

Sales experience with professional or consumer video equipment would be a great advantage, which you may have gained in a consumer retail environment, manufacturer or distributor. If you have hands on experience with video and broadcast production systems and are looking for a change, we have a sales role available in our Artarmon office where you could utilise all your past industry experience in using, managing or building production solutions.
Videocraft specialises in sales and rentals of Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Blackmagic, Avid, and EVS broadcast and professional video production and post-production equipment and accessories. We are a progressive and dynamic company offering a friendly and collaborative work environment. We have a broad customer base including broadcasters, small and large production facilities, government and education.
We are now looking for a person experienced in a broad range of production equipment with a special interest in complex solutions for our industry clients. Your role would include:
- Collaborate with our engineering team to specify and deliver solutions
- Handling and following up all phone enquiries
- Consultations and advising in store customers on our full range of products and accessories
- Preparation and submission of quotes and tenders
- Actively seek new business to expand our customer base, with focus on post-production and production solutions
- Source and evaluate relevant new products
- Liaise with sales team to cooperatively maximise opportunities in all areas
- Work with suppliers and vendors to stay up to date with the latest developments
This is a responsible, full time position requiring commitment and enthusiasm.
Recent track record and sales experience with broadcast or professional video equipment and a good technical understanding of equipment functionality and compatibility are desirable, but we will consider candidates who can demonstrate commercial skills. A strong understanding of operation and workflows in a range of production environments is a definite advantage.
You must be confident, mature and exceptionally well organised, a great communicator with excellent written English. You must be prepared to work hard in a friendly team environment, have an open personality and work with minimal supervision, be computer literate, have a current driving licence and be passionate about the products you sell.
Salary will be negotiated according to experience. Training will be provided for both products and our internal systems.

Those without experience selling video equipment but who have retail and customer service experience and who have a passion for video gear should still apply.

Freelance Technical Directors
Videocraft is seeking the services of freelance technical television people for our busy and expanding rental business. The work would suit someone currently working freelance in OB or studio, in a technical director or engineering capacity, however many of our jobs also involve some operational skill, so we would also consider candidates with strong operational and/ or technical background. The job would involve sporadic and diverse work, coming out of our Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra offices. Certain jobs involve interstate and international travel. We deal with a broad variety of clients and its never the same job twice. We are seeking motivated individuals to work as part of a team or unsupervised, to deliver the high standards our clients expect on these jobs
Skills that would be of an advantage would include:
- A passion for all things technical in Television Production
- Basic engineering-level understanding of SDI, reference, timecode, analogue and digital audio, RTS comms signal paths.
- Computer networking as used in modern television facilities.
- Ability to setup and CCU camera chains, at a variety of levels from Sony X200's through to HDC2400 studio cameras, with associated lenses, tripods, CCU’s and RCP’s.
- Familiarity with the setup and operation of vision switchers from small Panasonic to Sony MVS series.
- Setup and operational experience with Yamaha digital audio consoles and peripherals.
- EVS technical or operational experience
- Avid technical or operational skills
- Previous Production, technical or operational experience in a studio or OB environment would be essential
- Client service and crew management skills a definite advantage.
